It is the third spin-off of the Five Nights at Freddy's series, the first two being FNaF World and Ultimate Custom Night. The game was released on May 28, 2019 on Steam, PlayStation Store, and Oculus VR. It is not yet released on the Oculus Quest, however, there are plans to port the game over to the Oculus Quest in the coming months. In an attempt to counter their reputation as dangerous (partially caused by the FNaF franchise itself), Fazbear Entertainment has commissioned the Freddy Fazbear Virtual Experience, a virtual reality game based on the legends about the various locations. During development, the development team was sent a box full of parts from the old animatronics, particularly their PCBs. Instructed to scan these into their system to expedite the game's development, they inadvertently release a malevolent entity (in the form of a stylized version of "Springtrap") into the game. It is referred to as Glitchtrap in the games files. The player can find glitchy cassette tapes scattered throughout the game, which contain logs recorded by a female employee working on the game. As the tapes are gathered the entity becomes more real and gets closer to the player when on the Main Menu, until it confronts you in which it attempts to take over the player's body, and get out into reality.
