Ethan is searching for his missing wife, Mia, which leads him to a derelict plantation mansion, home of the Baker family. The game starts with a series of video's from Ethan Winters' late wife Mia. The videos range from pleasant exchanges turning toward dark sinister warnings. The final video, reveals that Mia is in fact very much alive and was presumed dead three years ago. Mia actively pleads with her husband that she is sorry for her lies and that he must "stay away". Ethan, naturally ignores the warning and travels to Louisiana. This eventually leads him to the heart of the backwater of Louisiana to a large planation owned by the mysterious Baker family.
